Position Overview:

Works with members of the Infrastructure and Security team to identify system security exposures, review significant security events, act as the "first responder" to cybersecurity incidents, assist with mitigating IT risks, and prepare security metrics. The person in this role will maintain and configure systems, security, and network services in a manner that achieves confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Job Duties & Essential Functions

  • Develop, document, and maintain security procedures.
  • Create and keep documentation updated related to new and existing IT infrastructure.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware (VLAN’s, access control lists, etc.).
  • Manage accounts, network rights, and access to devices and equipment.
  • Maintain, configure, and monitor the corporate virtualized environment.
  • Provide security-related guidance and training to end users and IT staff.
  • Recommend and make changes in policy through collaboration and the identification of gaps identified by the user of cybersecurity technologies that protect our data and business information systems.
  • Recommend changes to improve systems, network, and security configurations.
  • Stay informed of current technology, trends and best practices related to IT Infrastructure and Security.
  • Administer server and network vulnerability scanning systems.
  • Monitor intrusion detection, email security, and anti-malware alerts.
  • Respond to cybersecurity incidents by conducting investigations, containing, and eradicating security threats, and documenting timelines and activities related to significant incidents.
  • Actively participate in the design and implementation of applications, services, and infrastructure to ensure security and privacy design principles are being followed.
  • Assist system administrators with security configuration, vulnerability remediation, and patch management.
  • Work with technical groups and provide timely, high quality technical contributions.
  • Create new support processes to better serve business changes.

Education & Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of Infrastructure and Security experience
  • BS or an MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or related field
  • Microsoft, Cisco, Security-focused certifications
  • Technical expertise in computer networking, systems administration, and security tools, combined with the knowledge of commonly accepted security practices and procedures.
  • Experience with information system security and network security practices – Identity and Access Management, Incident Management, Security baseline, and configurations
  • Technical knowledge of client/server and network/infrastructure security.
  • Must be self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
  • Experience with a wide application of the principles, theories, and concepts of business and IT implementation strategies.
  • Must be comfortable being the primary point of contact in the day-to-day administration of information security tools and devices
